As from April 2012, the Tax Threshold 2012 at which the higher rate tax band applies will lower, from £35,000 to £34,370 - £630 less than the 2011/12 tax year.

If you are a Sole Trader, or have to complete a Personal Tax Return, then the deadline is looming; you must have completed and filed your Self Assessment Tax Return (for the year 2010/11), as well as paying any outstanding tax, by the 31st January 2012.
